Account operations
Status: placeholder. This guide will be written before launch.
The admin actions that touch accounts directly — not the content the account publishes, but the account itself. These are less frequent than calendar-level actions but the ones where mistakes are hardest to reverse.
Planned scope
- Suspending an account: what it does, what the user sees, what their calendars do (this depends on product behavior to confirm), when to suspend vs. when to talk first
- Reinstating a suspended account: the procedure and the conversation that should precede it
- Deleting an account: the rare cases (user request, court order, account is purely abusive), what's recoverable, what isn't, the relationship between deleting an account and removing its calendars
- Recovering a locked-out admin — the path back in when no admin can log in. The fallback procedure that has to exist for first-deployment day-two-disaster
- Helping a calendar owner who's lost access to their own calendar: password reset paths, email-change paths, ownership-transfer paths if those exist
- The "this user has a name collision with someone on another instance" question — federation makes this rarer than it is on centralized systems, but it does come up
