Set up community funding

Pavillion's funding model is community contributions to keep community infrastructure running — closer to how a public radio station funds itself than to a software subscription. This guide will cover how to enable a funding plan on your calendar, what visitors see when they decide to contribute, and what calendar owners should and shouldn't promise the people who pitch in.

• What the public contribution surface looks like to visitors
• What you can and shouldn't promise contributors
• The role Stripe plays at the level a non-developer needs (you don't host the payment surface; the instance does)

The term you'll see throughout is "funding plan" — never "subscription," which means something else in a federated system.
